Frequently Asked Questions

Questions & Answers

Self-assessment is how you inform HMRC of any income you may have to pay tax on. For example, you may be a sole proprietor, deriving income from property, a partner in a partnership and liable for the contribution, or a director of a limited company and as a shareholder. Can receive dividends.
Filing a self-assessment can occasionally result in a tax refund and is usually not attached to bills.
With the introduction of MTD Income Tax Self-Assessment in April 2026, some taxpayers are expected to experience a change in the process.

An online annual tax return must be filed if you are:
· Director of limited company
· Self-employed
· Employed and earning more than £100,000 or receiving child benefit on half mentioned salary.

If you’re still unsure whether you must complete a self-assessment, you can get in touch with HMRC. As an alternative, you could talk to us. We are always pleased to assist!

Generally, an online self-assessment tax return must be filed by January 31 of the year to which the tax return relates. The deadline for filing a paper return, if required, is October 31, which follows the end of the relevant tax year.

If you owe more than £1,000 in total self-assessment tax, you must make payments on account. HMRC will request an advance payment for next year’s taxes at the same time you pay your current year’s bill, assuming your tax liability remains unchanged.

Since I work digitally, I can collaborate with you from anywhere.

I will ensure that you and your company are as tax efficient as possible in addition to handling your self-assessment tax return! Additionally, you are welcome to speak with your accountant whenever necessary throughout the year.
